2018 is Russia. Travel will be a huge problem, but I'm excited. I've always wanted to go there. Hopefully we get grouped somewhere cool like St Petersberg.

Re: General Soccer Thread
2022 = Qatar.
Money can't buy happiness but it sure as hell can buy a World Cup. I look forward to dying of heat stroke and not being able to drink while I'm there.
Seriously, two of the bribeyist countries in the world. So predictable.

I find these decisions piss poor and soccer just hurt itself in its popularity I think. Qatar is gonna be hot and annoying if I have to go there in 22

The Terrorists win again
By 2022 USA will be a colony of Qatar - so no worries.

They just unveiled their jerseys yesterday. The away shirt is the best jersey in MLS and among my favorite in sports.MrSaigon wrote:I'm thinking about going in on Timbers season tickets.

Love the two-toned red, the white sleeve and the rose badge is fantastic. I'm getting one.

I'm out of my element, as Walter may say, but it seems like the Timbers are doing a pretty decent job putting a expansion team together. They lucked into the top college player in yesterdays draft. They're about to sign Kenny Cooper who (as I understand) didn't exactly materialize with the U.S. like he might have (like Timber Eddie Johnson. I remember reading one of SI's 'America's great soccer hope' articles about Johnson) but has scored 40 goals in 90 MLS games. They also have the former MLS goalkeeper of the year.
I'll get caught up in knowledge, but it seems like they have some guys to be excited about and come out and see. I'd like to read some analysis about how competitive they'll be, though the roster is still forming.
Man, if I knew enough about soccer, I'd start a blog about the Timbers. There is definitely a market and there aren't any decent ones out there. The blog at SBNation isn't bad, but I don't like that place too much.
