Since the 2011 Magic Number Thread was posted, the Cardinals are 17-6, the Braves are 9-14 and the Cardinals have swooned out of contention for the GIDP ML record.

If stl goes 7-2 (91 wins), Atl needs to go 3-5 (90 wins) for us to get in (or 4-4 to force a playoff)

Just checked the postseason schedule. NLDS games will start on Saturday, October 1; this means if Carpenter has to pitch the season finale (in order for us to even make it into the postseason) he won't be available until Game 3 on Tuesday, October 4, unless we want him to start Game Two on Sunday on 3 days' rest.
