The coolest way to learn that Patterson Hood now lives in Portland is for Jason Isbell to pull him up on stage for several songs in the encore at the Portland show where your grandmother used to take you to the symphony.

I'll tell you this too: the guy is on the war path to write the next Cats in the Cradle.

Caught his performance last night and its nothing short of incredible.

Interesting stuff re country music. Billboard sales charts are totally out of sync with radio airplay charts. You can guess where bro-country reigns.

and with regards to country--i also caught the Josh Abbott Band at exit/in last night. For those who like texas country (the only good country these days), do yourselves a favor and check them out as well.
