In his defense, the PH options were the backup catcher, a guy in a 2-for-8 million slump and a guy who can't play because of an anxiety disorder.

Ryan, Wainwright, any other starting pitcher. Seriously, Kinney is 0-6 in his 9 professional seasons. He has never had an at bat at the MLB level.

He does this stuff a lot. Obsesses with keeping all 16 pitchers fresh- more worried about tomorrows game than todays

Then we should put a straight jacket on the anxiety disorder guy and send him off to a home and get somebody we can friggin use!!!

I'm not going to be insensitive to Greene's depression. But if he can't play, and if Ryan can't play, you need another guy on the bench for the first two games of this series. I'm amazed at how often the Cardinals end up in this type of bind with position players.

Another chapter - Schumaker starts at 2nd and DeRosa is in LF for MDs first Cards game.
