But I really do like the looks of the Cards lineup with Holliday in it. Also with Luddy and DeRosa heating up that could be a ridiculous 3-4-5-6. Easily one of the best in baseball. Add Rasmus in the mix and I think you can seriously make another run at the NL. So I'm really torn.

I also think our rotation in the playoffs would be fine. I think we'd have a solid 1-4 and you barely ever need 4 in the playoffs anyway.
Certainly don't want to hijack the thread, but that's an interesting discussion itself

If we make the playoffs, who starts Game 3? Personally, I'd have to give the ball to Jo-el over Lohse

right. And Holliday could sign with a crappy team and we wouldn't get the 1st but would get the 2nd round pick instead due to the protection rules.

It's a crapshoot, but as much as we love the Walrus around here he's still a bit of one himself.

It's Pineiro pretty easily as of right now.

It depends on how everyone is pitching in Sept. I would hope that by then Lohse has returned to his normal form.

Not many crappy teams sign guys like Holliday, at least, and there's still good talent in the 2nd round.

YEah, but think about the Bud Smith trade for Rolen and Kennedy for Edmonds. Not that I don't understand what you're saying, but that type of thinking would have prevented those trades from going down.

I think Holliday makes this team a playoff team easily with a decent WS shot.

Our rotation is very good right now. 4 deep I would argue one of the best in baseball. 3 deep, not as good, but still well above average.

The more I think about this, the more I like it.

As for Willingham, he's hot right now, and it seems you'd have to pay for that. Holliday is down right now and if they're only asking for Wallace, I'd do it.

I am witholding my opinion until AskJeeves[BOT] weighs in.
