We just close our door and let him tear [expletive] up in the room while we sleep. After a time or two, all the things that can get destroyed get destroyed and there's nothing but shoes and other indestructibles left around. Of course, then he'll get bored and want to destroy something and wake us up, but whatever.

Snapshot of my night:

9:30 pm - Rose gets last bottle, falls asleep - out for the evening.
9:35 pm - Put Smelly back to bed for the 3rd time, lie in bed with her for about 15 min until she finally calms down enough to go to sleep.
9:50 - go back to finish watching NCIS:LA with Mrs. Wart.
10:30 - finish making Stinky's lunch, finish off the kitchen cleaning.
11:00 - take out trash head up to go to bed.
11:10 - in bed.
11:22 - cat pukes on the bedroom floor - get up to clean it up.
12:15 - last time I look at clock before falling asleep.
1:15 - Rose fusses - Mrs. Wart heads down to get bottle - Rose falls back asleep without bottle.
2:45 - Smelly taps me on the forehead asking if she can get in bed with us since she had a bad dream.
2:50 - Smelly snuggles in to bed after taking her to the bathroom.
3:15 - Rose wakes screaming - Mrs. wart gives her the bottle, she goes back to sleep.
3:45 - Smelly kicks me in the back.
4:30 - wake up for no [expletive] reason to look at the clock.
4:55 - wake up in anticipation of the alarm going off in 5 minutes.
5:00 - hit the snooze.
5:07 - hit the snooze again.
5:14 - get up - Rose fusses a little and goes back to sleep.
5:30 - showered and dressed, I check on Stinky - she wants to get in bed with mommy.
5:40 - head out the door.
5:48 - at Circle K for drink - realize I left my lunch at home - head back home for lunch.
6:00 - pick up lunch - head back to work.

That is a typical night actually.

Any time I see a car with a bunch of bumper stickers on it, I assume the driver is a crazy person, even before I can read what the stickers say.

One drawback to being able to wear shorts again is I have to remember to take any change out of my pocket before getting in the car. Otherwise it falls out every time.

At some points in my life I thought maybe I'd like kids. Nic wanted to have one or two and I'd have gladly done that for her, but I'm kind of glad I didn't do that. Kids kind of screw up everything if your a self centered prick like me. Most of my friends have kids now and it sucks. That Allman Brother's song comes to mind "Tony went and got three kids and a lovely wife. Working at the commerce bank for the rest of his life. Nobody left to run with any more."

I have the next few days off thanks to rain. In fact probably most of next week so i said to Michelle Obama hey I've been wanting to go see this guys car collection over by Indiana and if I can set that up you want to go and we'll make a long weekend out of it. Since we have no kids she thought it was a great idea. She has to be back at work Tuesday but we've got a few days to just do what ever the hell we want.

Kids would completely ruin that. Kids would seriously mess up my life. Kids don't fit in a Vette, or a Cuda, or a Chevy Cobalt SS for that matter. I'd have to sell some cars and probably get something that sucked. I think maybe someday I'll regret not having kids, but not today.

New random musing. French doesn't use the W unless the word is borrowed from another language.

death has a strange way of showing up. my former boss passed away last night. she could only have been in her 50s. but she, more or less, hired me to my first full time position. very weird.

I often skip breakfast and eat lunch at 11AM. I kind of like beating the rush.
