Crazy that he took that big of discount. I could understand him going short on term, but the dollar figure is crazy low.

Yes it is; esp with the cap continuing to rise the way it is

I thought he’d take the short term route like others suggested to give them one last shot at a title before becoming a FA again in his early 30s…

But never expected that big of a discount; for sure thought it’d be around 15 per at least

Blues opening roster is set. No major surprises, in my opinion. Biggest one is perhaps that Lucic didn't make the cut coming off his PTO. They could still sign him, but as of now, he's out.

Also, they lost Colton Ellis to waivers. That could hurt a little in the future. But right now, we won't notice as long as Binner and Hofer stay healthy.

OPENING NIGHT ROSTER
Forwards (14)

9 - Alexandre Texier
10 - Brayden Schenn
13 - Alexey Toropchenko
18 - Robert Thomas
21 - Jimmy Snuggerud
22 - Pius Suter
25 - Jordan Kyrou
26 - Nathan Walker
63 - Jake Neighbours
70 - Oskar Sundqvist
71 - Mathieu Joseph
77 - Nick Bjugstad
81 - Dylan Holloway
89 - Pavel Buchnevich

Defense (7)

6 - Philip Broberg
17 - Cam Fowler
23 - Logan Mailloux
51 - Matthew Kessel
55 - Colton Parayko
72 - Justin Faulk
75 - Tyler Tucker

Goaltenders (2)

30 - Joel Hofer
50 - Jordan Binnington

Sunny was also injured in practice. Wondering if he reinjured his knee. Could be the door Lucic needs to make the team.

here this info from Army today on both situations...
Oskar Sundqvist sustained a lower-body injury in a recent practice and is considered week-to-week. GM Doug Armstrong said he doesn’t believe it’s serious. #stlblues

Doug Armstrong said literally a week, they don't see this as a long-term thing. He has been ruled out for the next three games. #stlblues
Doug Armstrong on Milan Lucic's training camp PTO: "He got banged up the last couple (of preseason) games. We're going to rehab him here, get him back up health-wise to 100% and likely reconnect on an in-season PTO to get him up and running and see where he's at then." #stlblues

Milan Lucic is dealing with a lower-body injury that he will rehab here. #stlblues will extend his PTO in the 10-day increments and whether he earns a contract yet or not will be determined. #stlblues
don't know why they keep trying to force Lucic; he was so slow when he played last, and looks downright awful now

I think teams are looking to add more of an old school enforcer mentality again. The 101.1 radio guys were just talking about this. They pointed at this game as exhibit A.

This is a fun watch if you're a fan of old school hockey.

oh I'm all about that; but he'd be 10 minutes too late to any fight with how slow he is lol

Does the Walman deal give us an idea of what a broberg extension could look like? 8x7?

Hadn't thought about it. But on the surface, I think you might be in the ballpark.
