How can the good people at the PD have such a large dollar range (14-16)? I'm surprised by the number of years.

Anyway, it's a decent opening offer, but I'll be disappointed if they aren't willing to add more dollars. Hopefully, it will encourage teams to put their bids in. I don't want this process to drag out too long.

The biggest thing working against the Cards is that I dont think the Yanks and Red Sox are ready to make an offer right now. So they either need to negotiate against themselves (which is the key to overpaying) or Boras drags his feet, and the Cards end up having to threaten to pull the offer off the table so that they can at least have a chance at Plan B.
