Nobody great has been traded yet. The returns have been matching what is being given up imo.Socnorb11 wrote: ↑July 28 23, 1:44 pm
I'm just bading it on selling price on the deals that have been made.
The haul for rentals has changed a lot of the last decade. Teams aren't emptying out their systems or even giving up top 5 prospects, in most cases, rentals. It would have to be a real game changer. None of those type of guys have moved yet.
The best person traded so far is who? Lucas Giolito? Who is a nice pitcher, but he has a career FIP and ERA over 4.2.
Cardinals should expect similar for Monty and Flaherty. The real haul they would get is if they make some uncomfortable moves like Edman, Donovan, Carlson, Contreras, or hell, even Gorman, etc...

I’d look at the Phillies. Dombrowski will trade anything that isn’t bolted to the floor. He won’t be there in three years anyway.

Giolito and Reynaldo Lopez returned a top 100 prospect.

Who’s supposedly on the trade block for us?

Goold mentioned this in his update to day to keep an eye on them. And they have young pitching. He also was saying they know they would have to package their expiring pitchers with some controllable bats in order to get a deal for young controllable arms.
He also said they haven't entertained any offers for Nootbaar, Walker or Edman
But Gorman seems to be available, but the young pitching arm would have to match the quality of Gorman's power potential
Also surprisingly teams are in on Burleson too.

According to Goold:
Flaherty, Monty, Hicks, Donovan, Burelson, Carlson, O'Neill, Helsley, and Gorman (under the right circumstances)
Walker, Nootbaar and Edman are not
Goldschmidt and Arenado are not (but the Dodgers are definitely trying, but it would have to be a "clear out your farm system" type deal it seems)
