Stupid soccer question: What is the penalty if the keeper handles a pass from a teammate's feet? Would it be a PK?

This MU/Dempsey game is wild.

My intuition is that it's an indirect free kick, and the first result I found on google agrees with me, so I'll go with that. That is a truly bizarre situation, btw, having an indirect kick inside the box. Lots of weird stuff happens on those plays.

Didn't this happen in the Olympic Semi-Finals, womens USA-Canada? Keeper called for handball on 6 second rule?

I'm not sure those are technically the same rule. Wikipedia says indirect kick for handling a pass back as well.

Pretty nice draw for Arsenal at Etihad Stadium this weekend. Big one coming up against Chelsea this Sat. Chelsea is currently in first and they're both tied for the BPL lead with 9 GF/2 GA.

My still ridiculously amateurish thoughts after watching them play 4 times...Cazorla is my favorite player. Mertesacker has been pretty solid since I ragged on him after week one. Gervinho is quick but quickly becoming one of my least favorite Gunners. I was way down on Diaby after week 2 but he's been pretty great since then (to a lesser extent yesterday). I like Podolski quite a bit and I'm hoping Giroud will relax and be better after he gets his first goal. Arteta doesn't seem to make a lot of mistakes. Same with Jenkinson. Mannone has made a couple errors in the last couple games.

One thing I'm loving about this game/league is that it's less predictable than I might have guessed it would be. Players sometimes have bad weeks, even if they're great players. And dominant teams still struggle at times against lesser ones. It may end up the same predictable top four by the end of the year but most games seem to be very competitive. Thank God for this sport because I'm way down on the NFL after tonight.

Carzola is a great sign by Wenger. Podolski too. The weekend brought a tough, but good loss for Arsenal. I thought they played well vs Chelsea. My biggest gripe with them as a fan the last few years has been that they beat the teams they should beat then fail to show up v Chelsea, United, City. To my eyes they outplayed Chelsea. I'll take the 2-1 loss and hope they can reverse it at SB later this year once their new signings have had a bit more time to gel.

Well that would be perfect. Especially with the way soccer is taking off in KC right now. Natural rivalries with them and Chi.

USA needs a draw tonight to advance to the final stages of World Cup Qualifying. Hopefully they get their act together starting tonight in KC.
If they advance, they have to play better in the final round. If they play Mexico and Costa Rica like they've played Jamaica and Antigua, they will be in trouble.
