I haven't listened to it yet but I believe you. Almost anything he touches is a masterpiece.go birds wrote:jason isbell has four FOUR shows coming up at the Ryman and they all sold out in a matter of minutes as well.

Today is the 40th Anniversary of Born To Run, one of my desert island discs.
It is also the 20th Anniversary of Out Come the Wolves, which is not, but it was from about 1998 - 2006. One of the best punk albums ever.

I think the real reason Rancid struck a chord with me and with people like me is that their whole thing was about being proud. It was about standing up for yourself and for your friends.

Yo-Yo Ma is coming. I'd love to see the world's foremost (best? maybe someone who knows could offer info there), playing the world's most beautiful $2.5 million instrument.
But it's sold out and the cheapest aftermarket ticket so far is $750, so maybe I won't make it.

Read that, and I'm excited in a low-key, mildly ironic indie kind of way for it. The lead single is great.thrill wrote:Good profile on Kurt Vile today from Grantland: http://grantland.com/features/kurt-vile ... ry-twitter

A group of random, middle-aged Scandinavian men write most of the top 40 pop songs in the US today, and have for the past decade.
