Be careful, everyone. There's someone impersonating someone who's impersonating a reporter.

I used AI to make “St. Louis Cardinals POBO John Mozeliak on psychedelic mushrooms forgetting to plug in his phone before the trade deadline” and got these.

Mozeliak held a press conference and said he wasn’t trading Arenado and Goldschmidt. I guess he can hold another press conference. The whole thing is silly media games. Maybe the Cardinals need to handle that better.

How does he know Arenado is frustrated? Lol. Arenado told him that personally? That just sounds like he's projecting.
The person who original came up with the Arenado story in the LA times, already backed off it and say talks have died down.
Mo has already said there are no plans to trade Arenado and Goldschmidt. Now could that change if the Dodgers gave a Godfather offer? I would think so. Hell, I would hope so. But that just seems unlikely.
There seems to be a major disconnect between Mo's comments 2 weeks ago and how the national media was taking it.

The response from Arenado last night seemed pretty clearly frustrated. It would’ve taken Mo two seconds to reiterate. I understand why they don’t usually comment, but this should be an exception

The Cards rotation makes $64+ Million this season. My rough calculations have them behind the Yankees, Mets, Padres and Rangers. The Cards and Blue Jays have about the same rotation salary. The issue isn't spending on pitching, its that spending on pitching is pretty inefficient and you need to pay for the right pitchers.cardsfantx wrote: ↑July 28 23, 2:27 pmI’d rather just not have the pitching and keep Gorman. He’s going to be a superstar/one of the best players in all of baseball. And yes, dmarx can quote me on this.haltz wrote: ↑July 28 23, 2:24 pmThe same reasons we don't want to trade him are the reasons he's the guy that could bring back controllable pitching, and there are about 6 guys on this team that can or do play 2B/3B and DH. But I get it. It would be hard to watch him hit 40 HR for another team - these are the tough decisions they need to make.
And we can sign snell and nola
I used to be meh on our payroll, but it’s time to start spending on pitching
