The Timbers are in for Mix Diskerrud?!
Mix Diskerrud is a really great young US prospect. That's awesome for them. I'm starting to come around on Gavin Wilkinson. Moved up in allcoation yesterday, uses it to nab one of the brightest young attacking midfielders in the US pool. Caleb Porter worked well with him for the u-23's.

Really impressed by this signing if it goes through. Caleb Porter's fingerprints are already all over this team.

Wilkinson is in a bad spot because he will get only blame from here on out. Everything bad will be his fault and everything good will be the work of Porter. But that's sports fans. Wilkinson is primarily just handling the technical side of things, but he really has done a very good job so far this offseason. We do have too many forwards now, though.

We may get Borstein, too. And if we move Boyd (there are rumors about Nottingham) we would free up another DP slot. It's an exciting offseason, and next year looks pretty good.

I don't think you'll get Mix, he'll have too many competitive offers in Europe, but if you do, and you move Nagbe out wide, you'll have something real going on between them and Mwanga. Some serious young guns.

Some are reporting it's done. I think it's going to happen, personally but won't be shocked if it breaks down.

Nice of Sepp Blatter to [expletive] all over MLS. Guess we forgot to send him a check or his deputy's kid to Stanford or whatever.

More hilariously ignorant pearls of wisdom from the man who thinks women should dress like sluts when they play so more men will be interested in watching. This dude doesn't even follow the sport.

Any US or Canadian players who suit up for the Cascadia "National" team are dumb. What a joke. Hey hipsters, you're not Catalonia. You've never been a sovereign state. GFY.

Cascadia itself is pretty interesting historically with roots right in my hometown. Come around sometime I'll take you to a house haunted by one of the leaders of the movement.

But leave it to the fans here to take everything about themselves way too seriously and have a strange sense of propriety. I love these guys but the atmosphere comes at a price on the fringes.

Who's talking about this? I really thought all those discussions were purely academic. Besides, California would field the best team, right?
