Re: The Video Game Thread
I went out today to get myself a birthday present. It came down to Ghostbusters or Prototype. I thought about asking for advice choosing here, but figured I didn't have the patience to sit for a few hours until several people got their opinions in, so I read the reviews online, but unfortunately they were in a dead heat. In the end, I decided that Prototype is the kind of game that goes Greatest Hits very quickly so I went with Ghostbusters. About an hour in, it's a fun game but I'm starting to doubt my purchase. After I beat this game, I don't know that it's going to have any replay value.

Re: The Video Game Thread
I meant to review it but I guess I didn't. It's a great looking game but it's too short and the depth of the gameplay is disappointing. It could have been a really good game but they settled for ok. Unless it has a really good online component (which I didn't try), I'm glad I decided to rent rather than buy.cpebbles wrote:I went out today to get myself a birthday present. Re: The Video Game Thread
I purchased Fight Night Round 4 this weekend.
It's awesome, an improvement on the last version.
Not all punches land square, and you get different angles.
It's impossible to land haymakers consistently, but that's pretty realistic.

Report: I still suck at Call of Duty 4. Despite my level (50) I am still terrible.
Carry on.

I'm in a bit of a gaming rut. I got halo wars for 30 bucks shipped, but I think I'm going to wait to download 'Splosion Man on the 22nd and try it first. I love 2D platform games.

i just got ncaa football 2010 for xbox and it is awesome. you and your friends can create your own teams online, then download them to your xbox's and start online dynasties competing against each other. you can upload your own pictures for logos and everything, it's badass.

I've been a big fan since the first one '05 or whenever it was. The game play is always fun...more enjoyable than Madden to me. I'm a dynasty junkie though. I did more stuff with that than I ever did playing the actual game. The last year or two it got so complicated and time consuming that it took forever to get through a season. Right now I'm waiting for a copy to come back into Blockbuster so I can try it out.Secret Weapon wrote:i just got ncaa football 2010 for xbox and it is awesome. you and your friends can create your own teams online, then download them to your xbox's and start online dynasties competing against each other. you can upload your own pictures for logos and everything, it's badass.
