What does playing for the Cardinals have to do with winning, family, consistency? You can win with the Yankees, probably more often. By making more money, you are helping your family by giving them the best home and lifestyle possible. The Yankees are consistently in the playoffs, and are consistently on ESPN. Playing for the Yankees would make his reputation skyrocket.

I feel like all I've been doing on here lately is arguing so I apologize in advance. But I think Albert's already to the point where he can live in just about any home he wants. And I'm not sure a lot of people would subscribe to the theory that an extra couple million a year, on top of the many millions he already makes, is going to allow him to provide a better lifestyle for his family. Just my opinion.

But I do think you make a good point about his reputation. I think he'd love to play for a big money, big city team and that's my biggest worry about re-signing him. I actually don't think it will be about money. Now I guess I'm arguing with myself but I've had the feeling for awhile now that Albert's going to go where the lights are brightest.

Albert has a sizable foundation (by that I mean his Pujols Family Foundation) set in StL. It wouldn't be fun to move that to a NYC, and I think that is as important to him as his baseball career.

1) Some of them really had no idea who he was, even some of my friends on Xbox from around the country. 2) My point was that even people who don't watch baseball know who Derek Jeter is.

According to the Boston Herald, the Yankees have contacted the representatives for free agent outfielder Jason Bay.
The Mets, Angels and Mariners have also shown interest in the outfielder, and, according to the Herald, Bay is expected to make a decision within the next few days. The 31-year-old hit .267/.384/.537 this past season with 36 home runs, 119 RBI and 13 stolen bases in 531 at-bats. The Red Sox have already reverted to Plan B with their signing of outfielder Mike Cameron.
