Maybe we'll finally stop hearing speculation about how the Cards should pick him up.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- The Atlanta Braves today agreed to terms with free-agent left-handed pitcher Mark Redman on a minor-league contract for the 2007 season, with a non-roster invitation to spring training. Financial terms of the deal were not announced. Redman is expected to join the club in Florida tonight and will make his first start tomorrow (Saturday, March 10) in the Braves' spring exhibition game against the Toronto Blue Jays. He will wear uniform number 19.

Redman, 33, was named to the American League All-Star team in 2006 when he posted an 11-10 record for the Kansas City Royals. He led the Royals in wins, starts (29), quality starts (11) and innings pitched (167). Redman started the 2006 campaign with an 0-4 record, but then went 5-0 with a 3.74 ERA in the month of June. He held left-handed hitters to a .229 batting average, while right-handers batted .326 off him.

An eight-year Major League veteran, Redman owns a 64-76 career record with a 4.65 ERA in 198 games (186 starts). Over the last five seasons (2002-06) he averaged 30 starts and 186 innings pitched per season.

Redman began his career with the Minnesota Twins in 1995 and reached the majors in 1999. He also pitched for the Detroit Tigers (2001-02), Florida Marlins (2003), Oakland A's (2004) and Pittsburgh Pirates (2005) before joining the Royals last season. He went 14-9 with a 3.59 ERA for the World Champion Florida Marlins in 2003.

Is this where we're supposed to say, "Where was Walt?", or is this where we're supposed to say, "Our season is over!". I forget.
