How does thrill do it?

Post by jim »

Go to "Other Sports" right now. Last post: thrill, thrill, thrill, thrill, thrill...

And they are good posts, his basketball insight is second to none. I post in the Bulls thread hoping thrill will answer just to read something good. I don't know squat about the other stuff he's talking about, but how does one person know so much about so many sports? I'm pretty much MLB and NBA, that's about all I can handle. I've seen maybe 4 total quarters of the Bears, but that's about all my sports brain can absorb.

Thrill probably knows the backup goalie for the Fiorentina soccer team. How do you do it thrill?

Well I think it comes down to not being married, having a good tv package and having a job which lets me spend hours a day on the internet.

Honestly I worry that I spend too much mental resources following various sports. I don't really like the NFL or college football like I used to but I still know enough to get by in just about any conversation.

I'm also starting to get into open wheel auto racing so there's more stuff to fill my mind with.

I'd like to think I know a relative [expletive] load about baseball (at least, I know enough about the game as it as played on the field, and plenty about statistical analysis; when it comes to matters of contract discussions and the like, I stay out, because I'm lost), and I used to know a [expletive] load about football but once baseball became my passion I really stopped following it hardcore. I feel guilty about that.

This thread isn't about you. It's about thrill and how much he slacks at work.

jim, just because you're not a mod anymore doesn't mean you have to suck up to those who still are.
