Rant: Passive-Aggressively Dumping Someone

Post by Cronos »

...because, clearly, telling me that you felt upset at me two or three weeks ago in an e-mail that I received from you tonight (long after things had ended between us and I had moved on) rather than telling it directly to my face when you immediately felt said emotion, is an incredibly effective way to communicate and ensure the continuation of a healthy relationship.

I think what you are doing is called giving away too much power.

Not sure what you mean. In a relationship, women hold all the power.

If you ended the relationship because of behavior like this, it should not be surprising she would keep doing it, so why would you be so upset?

She ended the relationship, not I.

I was just remarking on how there have been more than one relationship I've been in that have ended in this manner. And when the relationships end, I'd prefer direct feedback as to why rather than zero contact which is cowardly and passive-aggressive.

Yes. I had not heard anything from her for more than two weeks.

then it does qualify as passive aggressive. unless she was replying to an email asking her why things didn't work out, but waited 2 weeks to respond to it.

Yes it does, because she did wait two weeks to respond to it. The point being, and I made it clear in our early dating that if she has an issue to verbalize it, that she waited this long despite her non-responses to my attempts to reach out and hang out again, is just beyond frustrating.

I always invite feedback in every stage of a relationship. Apparently some of the women I have dated so far have for whatever reason chosen to not provide feedback and to avoid. Which is passive-agressive and cowardly.

There is a proper way to end a relationship and this isn't it- and it is painful when someone else calls it off, especially without an explanation. Giving away too much power refers to letting someone else have too much influence on how you feel about yourself.
