You must have been listening to someone else's playlist.

That's weird. I clicked on the link and it started playing a playlist of Elvis songs. I don't have spotify, maybe it started playing a general Elvis station because I'm not premium.

When I click on it now it shows like 12 Elvis songs. There was a Kacey Musgraves cover too.

The link is working for me but if anyone else has trouble let me know and maybe I'll try reposting the link.

I do enjoy Suspicious Minds but I'm not sure any covers are better than my drunken karaoke version. So it didn't get included.

Actually having looked at most of the lists I made this year just now, it seems like I've subconsciously gone with a theme of songs that help me feel relaxed or chill. That does seem to be the kind of music I've been drawn to lately, maybe because sometimes it's very difficult to relax comfortably these days. Interesting bit of self introspection there for me but I digress.

Happy listening everyone!

Alabama Shakes-Hold On
I was very late to this party. Amazing voice and passion, and the band has a cool sound.
Marcus King (and Katie Pruitt)-Homesick
Listening to The Marcus King Band is like taking a time machine. Extremely talented guitarist and has an unbelievable voice.
Black Pumas-Oct 33
Most of their stuff gets you moving, but when I am enjoying Maker's Mark I want a cool breeze of music. Another amazing guitarist in this band. The string quartet is the chef's kiss on this masterpiece.
Michael Kiwanuka-Love & Hate
A chill vibe with great voices and you guessed it... electric guitar. A perfect song as your legs start to tingle from the cigar and you're pouring your second glass of whiskey.
Paolo Nutini-Iron Sky
A powerful song with a great beat and a crazy good singer. Adele witnessed this live session performance in person and said it was the greatest live performance she'd ever seen. Every musician stays in their pocket throughout the song. Who doesn't want to hear a good Charlie Chaplin speech mid song? By this point you are drunk enough to start a revolution.

This is a tough one for me.

@TGantz, you have a knack for weaving songs into cohesive playlists using a variety of artists from across the musical spectrum. In the 2 years of playlist tourneys, I’ve added more previously unknown songs/artists to my library from you than anyone else.

@CardsofSTL, I may be the current forum geezer by age but based on your playlists there is no doubt that you are the oldest soul. The way you pull songs together from different eras and genres never fails to amaze me.

I’m going to listen to these again before voting.

I was excited to hear Kacey Musgraves’ Can’t Help Falling in Love. The production with an old roomy piano and a weird standup bass with fretting/playing sounds louder than tone (is there video of this?) exceeded all expectations. Super great.

Billy Swan (unknown to me) teasing me with the timing on Don’t be Cruel was very fun.

I went Elvis. My favorite Elvis song is Pocketful of Rainbows.

I wish Alabama Shakes would reconvene. I didn’t care much for Brittany Howard’s solo stuff much. Great music.

I don't know that I have seen a video of that performance specifically

Billy Swan's biggest hit was probably I Can Help
