Cardinals - Mets 80's Rivalry Trivia

Which player was traded to the Mets in 1983 coinciding with the beginning of a heated rivalry between the two teams?
[SHOW]
Keith Hernandez
Ken Dayley of the Cardinals gave up one of the most memorable home runs in Busch Stadium history. The home run (estimated at 440 feet) hit the scoreboard clock in right center field and led to the Mets a 1-0 win in 11 innings. Which Mets player hit this historic blast?
[SHOW]
Darryl Strawberry
On September 11, 1987, the Cardinals trailed the Mets 4-2 in the top of the 9th at Shea Stadium. Mets closer Roger McDowell was within one out of winning the game for the Mets, but gave up a game tying two-run home run that sailed over the centerfield fence. Who hit the home run for the Cardinals?
[SHOW]
Terry Pendleton
"I know that bat's corked", claimed an infuriated Cardinals manager Whitey Herzog in 1987. Herzog also said, "He looks like Babe Ruth up there, and I know he ain't that good". Which Mets player was Whitey talking about?
[SHOW]
Howard Johnson
In April 1987, which Mets player crashed into the Cardinals dugout chasing a foul ball and causing John Tudor to suffer a broken leg forcing him to miss almost three months?
[SHOW]
Barry Lyons
In September of 1985, the Mets Dwight Gooden and the Cardinals John Tudor were locked in a classic pitcher's duel at Shea Stadium. After nine innings, the game was scoreless with Gooden exiting in favor of reliever Jesse Orosco. In the 10th, the Cardinals took the lead with a home run, and Tudor retired the Mets in the bottom half to seal the win. Who hit the home run for the Cardinals enabling them to win 1-0?
[SHOW]
Cesar Cedeno
In a radio interview in 2009, a former Cardinal player from the 1980s continued to blast the Mets and their players by referring to them as showboats and cheaters. During the interview, he said Mets catcher Gary Carter "talked his way more into the Hall of Fame than deserving it". Which former Cardinal made these remarks?
[SHOW]
Jack Clark

Couple other factoids from the 80s...from 1985-1988 the Cardinals and Mets alternated as Eastern Division Champions. Both teams won one World Series, the Cardinals had two WS appearances.

I got 4 of 7. That was a fun trivia quiz.

Also...man, I can't believe Pallante is still in our rotation. Prove me wrong, buddy, prove me wrong.

Nice trivia
What’s worse Pallante as a starter or Wynn as a cleanup hitter?

Both are indictments of our team’s talent.

I would much rather see Graceffo get some innings than Pushard or Roycroft.

I can't get used to Winn at clean up. Walker has been mashing. Put him up there. It's a rebuilding year. Rebuild.
